On Saturday, October 29, The Breeders' Cup World Thoroughbred championships heads back to Big Apple and Belmont Park this year for the fourth time in its illustrious 21-year history. Who will ever forget the 2001 Breeders' Cup at Belmont Park where, in the wake of the September 11 tragedy, Tiznow captivated our country's spirit by defeating European sensation Sakhee in the Breeders' Cup Classic, powered by Dodge. The prestigious eight-race event features $14 million in purses.

International Jockey Championship
Thursday, October 28
Lone Star Park is taking their popular NTRA All-Star Jockey Championship to a new level on Thursday, October 28. Billed as the International Jockey Championship, nine of the best race riders from around the globe will compete in three races for the right to be called the best jockey in the world.
Walmac Lone Star Derby
Friday, October 29
One day before the Breeders' Cup World Thoroughbred Championships, Lone Star Park will stage a stakes tripleheader on Friday, October 29, headlined by one of its signature races - the Grade III, $250,000 Walmac Lone Star Derby for 3-year-olds. Also on the program is the $150,000 Stonerside Stakes and the Grade I, $150,000 Refrigerator Handicap for American Quarter Horses.
